Paul Saunders, Founder & Director
Paul Saunders helps multinational businesses and SMEs expand brand awareness, win new business and increase revenue. He is a highly experienced B2B communicator, marketeer and writer, and champion of good grammar. Over several years he has worked with some of the world’s leading brands including IBM, Cisco, NEC, Mitsubishi Electric, Ricoh and Rockwell Collins ARINC. He set up Essential. Communication Matters in 2000 and has won several leading UK and international brand accounts as well as SMEs. Once won, clients want to stay; several have stayed with his company for more than five years and one for over 10 years. He has worked with leading UK marketing and PR agencies running key accounts and managing teams.
He started his career as a local newspaper and trade journalist. He broke into the highly competitive world of journalism through sheer tenacity; he found celebrities living in his local area, persuaded them to be interviewed and then got their stories published. He was a finalist in the London Times newspaper IT journalist of the year award.
Paul believes in serving the community and using his skills and experience to benefit others. He has been a school governor for over five years, he ran a UK and international youth organisation, he’s been a rugby and cricket coach for local youth clubs and served as a school advisor and mentor for the UK Young Enterprise scheme. He lives in London with his wife and three children.
